Lichk is considered to be one of the best mining regions in the world for its high quality mineral resources. The village was discovered in the period from 1957 to 1961 during the study of the hydrogeological conditions of the basin of Lake Sevan as a result of the drilling activites at 200m depth. The first factory producing carbon dioxide in Lichk was during the Soviet Union, but it was closed some time later. After many years of being shut down, the mine was put back to operation thanks to "Technoman".
The mineral resources of the mineral water in Lichk were established in 1972. The carbonaceous mineral water can be used for recreational purposes.
The drilling process is carried out in a closed-loop manner: the water is directed to the plant through a closed pipeline of 800 meters for the carbon dioxide to be obained. Catchment equipment, pipes, materials and facilities are purchased from abroad and comply with the ISO standards. The drilling operations have negligible impact on the environment.
The operations and activities are conducted in the light of water resource preservation and environmental legislation in the RA. The company is also involved in the elimination of negative effects on nature as well as the correct and safe manner of operations.
